Healthcare Centre

Grace Family Health Centre employs two registered nurses, one of which is also a qualified midwife. Moses, our head nurse, oversees all deliveries and is assisted by Membe, a Traditional Birth Attendant. Membe has been delivering babies for more than 50 years and is trusted by the mothers in our village.

Six local volunteers have been trained to provide outreach services in the community. Community Health Workers (CHWs) help to bridge the gap between the clinic and the community by providing first-aid, and basic healthcare information. Our CHWs work in five different villages and they direct people who are in need of more serious medical attention to our Health Centre. They also provide support to pregnant women and encourage them to come for prenatal and maternal care. Our CHWs lead by example and are respected members of the community ... they give people good advice on nutrition, sanitation, family-planning and child-care practices.
